CASE FILE #063 — THE MOUTH

We know what Entity F is.

It’s a tongue.

We know what Entity F is.

It’s a tongue.

The military source who has been sending us images from the underwater drone sent this photograph after the drone continued beyond the area we called the nursery.

Entity F was still beneath it.

The drone followed it deeper into the organic passage until the structure stretched ahead toward something enormous.

A mouth.

There is no other way to describe it.

The same dark tissue we have been documenting across Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac continues directly into the opening.

Entity F is the tongue of whatever is down there.

I had to go back through our archive after seeing this photograph.

We watched Entity B collect the cocoon-like objects along the shoreline.

Then we found one resting on Entity F.

A witness watched the surface of F contract beneath it, slowly carrying the cocoon toward the lake.

Later, we discovered that Entity F descended into the fissure.

Now we know where it was taking them.

Here.

To this mouth.

We still have no confirmation of what is inside those cocoons. But after seeing a living person’s hands pushing from inside Entity A, I cannot keep pretending the possibility isn’t there.

They may be people.

And if they are, Entity B wasn’t simply collecting them.

It was feeding them to this.

But there is something about this photograph that frightens me even more.

Look around the mouth.

The drone is already inside something organic.

The walls surrounding it are tissue. The nursery appears to grow from that same tissue. And now, deep inside it, we have found another enormous living structure with a mouth and a tongue extending all the way to the surface.

So what exactly are we looking at?

Is this mouth part of whatever enormous organism surrounds the drone?

Is it another entity living inside it?

Or is everything beneath the lake part of some biological system we don’t understand yet?

I thought finding the end of Entity F would finally give us an answer.

Instead, we’ve discovered that the thing stretching through our streets may have been nothing more than a tongue reaching out from somewhere far beneath us.

And whatever this mouth belongs to, we are still inside something much bigger.

DOSSIER #063 — LA BOUCHE

Nous savons maintenant ce qu’est l’Entité F.

C’est une langue.

Le militaire qui nous transmet les images du drone sous-marin nous a envoyé cette photographie après que l’appareil eut poursuivi son trajet au-delà de la zone que nous avons appelée la pouponnière.

L’Entité F se trouvait toujours sous le drone.

L’appareil l’a suivie plus profondément dans le passage organique, jusqu’à ce que cette structure s’étende devant lui vers quelque chose d’énorme.

Une bouche.

Il n’y a pas d’autre façon de la décrire.

Le même tissu sombre que nous documentons depuis son apparition à Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac se prolonge directement dans cette ouverture.

L’Entité F est la langue de ce qui se trouve là-dessous.

Après avoir vu cette photographie, j’ai dû retourner consulter nos archives.

Nous avons vu l’Entité B rassembler les objets ressemblant à des cocons sur la rive.

Puis nous en avons découvert un posé sur l’Entité F.

Un témoin a vu la surface de F se contracter sous le cocon et le transporter lentement vers le lac.

Nous avons ensuite découvert que l’Entité F descendait dans la fissure.

Maintenant, nous savons où elle les transportait.

Ici.

Vers cette bouche.

Nous n’avons toujours aucune confirmation de ce qui se trouve à l’intérieur de ces cocons. Mais depuis que nous avons vu les mains d’une personne vivante pousser depuis l’intérieur de l’Entité A, je ne peux plus faire comme si cette possibilité n’existait pas.

Ce sont peut-être des personnes.

Et si c’est le cas, l’Entité B ne faisait pas que les rassembler.

Elle nourrissait cette chose.

Mais il y a quelque chose dans cette photographie qui m’effraie encore davantage.

Regardez autour de la bouche.

Le drone se trouve déjà à l’intérieur de quelque chose d’organique.

Les parois qui l’entourent sont faites de tissu. La pouponnière semble pousser à même ce tissu. Et maintenant, profondément à l’intérieur, nous avons découvert une autre immense structure vivante, avec une bouche et une langue qui remonte jusqu’à la surface.

Alors, qu’est-ce que nous regardons exactement?

Cette bouche fait-elle partie de l’organisme gigantesque qui entoure le drone?

Est-ce une autre entité vivant à l’intérieur?

Ou est-ce que tout ce qui se trouve sous le lac fait partie d’un système biologique que nous ne comprenons pas encore?

Je croyais que découvrir l’extrémité de l’Entité F nous donnerait enfin une réponse.

Au lieu de cela, nous venons de découvrir que la chose qui traversait nos rues n’était peut-être rien de plus qu’une langue remontant depuis quelque part, très loin sous nos pieds.

Et peu importe à quoi appartient cette bouche, nous sommes toujours à l’intérieur de quelque chose de beaucoup plus grand.
