CASE FILE #054 – It Stopped to Rest
Location: Quebec
The last time we documented Entity D, it had climbed onto a shopping centre in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac.
It did not stay there.
This photograph was sent to us today.
The witness had stopped at a gas station when he noticed something covering the mountain behind it. At first, he thought he was looking at exposed rock through the trees.
Then he saw the arms.
Entity D was stretched across almost the entire ridge.
The scale is difficult to understand from the photograph alone. Trees disappear beneath its body. Its limbs hang down the slopes, and hundreds of the smaller appendages first documented in Case #069 remain visible along its underside.
But the entity wasn’t moving.
The witness remained at the gas station for several minutes and watched it. Its body occasionally shifted, but it made no attempt to descend the mountain or continue forward.
It appeared to be resting.
That detail has stayed with me.
Entity D emerged from Lake of Two Mountains, crossed through Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, climbed over buildings and continued beyond the area where we had been documenting it.
And then, somewhere along the way, it became tired.
There is something strangely ordinary about that.
This enormous thing crossed our town, disappeared into the distance and eventually found a mountain large enough to lie down on.
At the time this photograph was taken, it was still there.
Resting.
