CASE FILE #046 – At the Edge
Location: Lake of Two Mountains, Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac
Following yesterday’s discovery, a resident with a boat agreed to approach the fissure and photograph it from the surface.
This is what it looks like up close.
The opening is far larger than the aerial photographs suggested. The lakebed drops almost vertically along its edge, disappearing into water too dark to see through. Even from directly above it, no bottom could be identified.
The witness attempted to measure the depth using his boat’s equipment.
He could not get a reading.
He remained beside the fissure for several minutes before leaving. According to him, the most unsettling part was crossing from the shallow water above the lakebed to the opening itself. Within only a few metres, the bottom simply disappeared.
We still do not know whether this fissure formed recently or has always been beneath the lake.
After months of documenting entities appearing throughout Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, however, the possibility raised yesterday has become considerably harder to dismiss.
Maybe these things did not arrive here from somewhere else.
Maybe they came up.

DOSSIER #046 – Au Bord
