CASE FILE #013 – First Visual Contact

Location: Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Lake of Two Mountains

A witness operating a small recreational watercraft on Lake of Two Mountains reported a close-range encounter with a Type B Entity during clear daytime conditions.

The witness had noticed what initially appeared to be a large dark mass partially submerged near the surface of the lake.

After observing movement, they recognized the characteristic overlapping armored plates and articulated appendages documented during previous Type B sightings.

The witness gradually approached.

According to their estimate, the vessel eventually came within approximately four meters of the entity.

It was only at this distance that the witness noticed something beneath the forward edge of the shell.

A face.

Only a portion of it was visible above the water.

The exposed tissue was pale, soft and heavily folded, in sharp contrast with the dark armored exterior covering the rest of the entity. Most of the head remained concealed beneath the shell and waterline, making its complete shape impossible to determine.

One eye was clearly visible.

According to the witness, it appeared to be looking directly at them.

The entity did not move as the vessel approached.

It did not retreat.

It displayed no apparent defensive behavior.

It simply remained partially submerged while the witness photographed it from only a few meters away.

The witness reported becoming increasingly uncomfortable after recognizing the exposed structure as a face. Until that moment, they had interpreted the entity primarily through its shell and limbs. Seeing an eye beneath the armor fundamentally changed their perception of what was in the water beside them.

Several photographs were obtained before the witness decided to withdraw.

This is the first photograph in our archives to reveal any significant portion of the face of a Type B Entity.

Previous observations had shown us its armored exterior and appendages.

We now know there is something else beneath them.

We have spent considerable time examining the visible portion of the head, and there is frustratingly little that can be established from a single photograph. We cannot determine the complete dimensions of the skull, the number or placement of the eyes, or how much of the structure remains concealed beneath the shell.

We also cannot confirm that the visible eye was actually tracking the witness.

But according to the person who was there, it was.

And at approximately four meters away, they were close enough to be very certain of what they saw.

There is something about this photograph that changes the way we look at the previous Type B sightings.

Until now, the heavy shell and articulated limbs made it relatively easy to think of these entities as enormous armored animals.

This photograph makes that considerably more difficult.

There is a face beneath the shell.

For now, we can see almost none of it.

Perhaps that is enough.

DOSSIER #013 – Premier Contact Visuel
